Eligibility Criteria:
1. Nationality:
- A candidate must be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962, or a person of Indian origin who migrated from certain countries with the intent of permanent settlement in India.
2. Age Limit (as on 01.10.2024):
- Minimum: 21 years
- Maximum: 30 years
(Age relaxation applicable for reserved categories as per government norms)
3. Educational Qualification (as on 01.10.2024):
- Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university.
- Candidates must also have proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the regional language of the state/UT for which they are applying.
4. Language Requirement:
- Proficiency in the regional language of the respective State/UT is essential. Candidates will undergo a Regional Language Test.
Selection Procedure:
The selection process consists of:
1. Phase I: Preliminary Examination (Online)
- Multiple-choice objective test for 100 marks.
- Sections include English Language, Reasoning Ability, and Quantitative Aptitude.
- Duration: 60 minutes.
2. Phase II: Main Examination (Online)
- Objective test for 200 marks.
- Sections include Reasoning, English Language, Numerical Ability, General Awareness, and Computer Knowledge.
- Duration: 120 minutes.
3. Regional Language Test:
- Candidates who qualify in the Main Examination will be required to pass a Regional Language Test.
Application Fee:
- SC/ST/PwBD/EXS: ₹100 (Intimation charges only)
- Other Categories: ₹850 (including intimation charges)

- Interested candidates can apply online from 24th October 2024 to 11th November 2024 through the NICL official website: https://nationalinsurance.nic.co.in.
- No other mode of application will be accepted.
- Detailed instructions for application registration, payment of fees, and document uploading are available on the official website.
Benefits and Salary:
- Pay Scale: ₹22,405 – ₹62,265 (per month) with other allowances.
- Total Emoluments: Approximately ₹39,000 per month in metro cities, inclusive of various allowances like medical benefits, leave travel subsidy, and more.
Selection Procedure:
1. Phase-I: Preliminary Examination (Online)
- The Preliminary Exam will be an objective type test for 100 marks.
- The test will be conducted online and will consist of the following sections:
- English Language: 30 questions, 30 marks
- Reasoning Ability: 35 questions, 35 marks
- Quantitative Aptitude: 35 questions, 35 marks
- Duration: 60 minutes (separate timing for each section)
- Language: The Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude sections will be in English and Hindi, while the English Language section will be in English only.
- Qualifying Criteria: Candidates need to secure passing marks in each section as decided by NICL.
- A sufficient number of candidates (approximately 15 times the number of vacancies) will be shortlisted for the Main Examination based on their performance in the Preliminary Examination.
2. Phase-II: Main Examination (Online)
- The Main Exam will consist of objective type tests for 200 marks.
- The exam will be conducted online and will have the following sections:
- Test of Reasoning: 40 questions, 40 marks (30 minutes)
- Test of English Language: 40 questions, 40 marks (30 minutes)
- Test of Numerical Ability: 40 questions, 40 marks (30 minutes)
- Test of General Awareness: 40 questions, 40 marks (15 minutes)
- Test of Computer Knowledge: 40 questions, 40 marks (15 minutes)
- Duration: 120 minutes (with separate timing for each section).
- Language: Except for the English Language section, all sections will be in both English and Hindi.
- Qualifying Criteria: Candidates need to obtain a minimum total score as decided by NICL in the Main Examination to proceed to the next stage.
- Negative Marking: For both Preliminary and Main Exams, 1/4th of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for each wrong answer.
3. Regional Language Test
- Candidates who qualify in the Main Examination will be shortlisted and called for a Regional Language Test.
- This test will assess the candidate’s proficiency in the regional language of the state/UT for which they have applied.
- No marks will be awarded for this test; it is only qualifying in nature.
- Candidates who do not pass the Regional Language Test will be disqualified.
Final Selection:
- The Final Merit List will be prepared based on the candidate’s performance in the Main Examination.
- Only candidates who pass the Regional Language Test will be considered for selection.
- In case of a tie in scores, the older candidate will be given preference.
